Working with Radio Taxis is safe, secure and lucrative. In 2007, the average fare on the street is £8. Our average job generates £26. No matter where you are in the capital, we will find work on your route. For example, drivers heading out on an airport run are assured of business coming back.
On 80% of jobs, drivers can see their destination. A 10% gratuity is assured on every account job and we cover more cash on the radio than any other circuit.
From July 2007, all cabs must confirm with the Euro 3 environmental standard designated by the Mayor of London’s office. Radio Taxis is not only retrofitting catalytic converters to vehicles where necessary but is planning to provide drivers with a new brand of fuel that is six times more biodegradable than any other currently available. It is our long term intention to provide passengers with the choice of travelling in environmentally friendly taxis.
Driver Benefits
Radio Taxis drivers receive an unrivalled level of support and services. Our flexible payment system provides remuneration on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis, according to driver preference.We operate the largest and best equipped fitting bay in the industry with extended opening hours. All cabs are equipped with an Emergency button. In the event of an incident, a signal is sent to our control room where the position of the taxi is identified and a call put through to the Police.
Drivers have the option of being provided with complementary Satellite Navigation and hands-free telephony units. A back up fleet is permanently maintained to keep drivers on the road at all times.
Radio Taxis also negotiates a range of benefits with external providers. These include discounted tyres and BUPA private health schemes.
Instruction for drivers is delivered in our state of the art training room complete with simulator. Regular forums provide drivers with an opportunity to voice opinions or propose new ideas which are welcomed. A climate controlled driver’s lounge is fully equipped with Sky TV and a pool table.
Drivers and their families are invited to join Radio Taxis Credit Union. Owned and run by members, the Credit Union provides loans at favourable rates that may be used for any purpose including cab overhaul, decorating your home or booking a holiday
