Business Issues
7,500 people are based at HSBC’s offices in Canary Wharf. A further 1,000 are housed at their private banking arm in St James Park. The sheer volume of staff in London and the pace of business activity demands preferred suppliers capable of providing around the clock support.Members of staff travel around Greater London, often at extremely short notice. Destinations may include client meetings, airports or corporate events/entertainment. Reliability, professionalism and punctuality are key values for the business. The challenge for suppliers is to demonstrate the same levels of dedication, expertise and versatility as HSBC.
Support services must be available at all times. While the vast majority of travel activity takes place between 7am-7pm, world class organisations committed to meeting the needs of clients or hitting deadlines appropriate to time-sensitive projects take no account of normal business hours. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an integral part of HSBC’s ethos and providing staff with safe passage home at any time is crucial to that commitment.
About Multifleet
Radio Taxis are the only ground transportation company in the UK offering multifleet services. According to the needs of each journey, customers may choose between chauffeur driven cars, black cabs, private hire vehicles, courier services or coaches.Corporate clients enjoy a bespoke service. Radio Taxis maintains a team of Implementation Managers tasked with analysing the needs of organisations and creating a tailor-made service. Factors that may be considered include seniority of passenger, length of journey, traffic patterns and regularity of service.
Multifleet is a one-stop source of road travel requirements. A succinct booking process equips clients with a website platform for reservations and a single telephone number for personal bookings.
Business rules govern day to day operations. For example, clients can specify the job titles of individuals empowered to book vehicles and differentiate between the levels of service each is entitled to order.
Radio Taxis provides leading edge management information. Consolidated invoices may be supplied and data divided by cost centre, project or employee. The added option of itemised bills enables companies to identify staff booking cars, length of journeys and average waiting times.
Working Together
HSBC appointed Radio Taxis as their preferred supplier for Ground Transportation in Spring 2006. Aiming to deliver above and beyond the bid document, Radio Taxis set about creating a tailored service to suit the needs of the business.HSBC and Radio Taxis operate in an atmosphere that is open, honest and mutually responsive. Monthly meetings provide an opportunity to review performance and exchange ideas for improvements. Where possible, Radio Taxis strive to implement suggestions put forward by HSBC. Such is the nature of the relationship that HSBC are equally comfortable if Radio Taxis propose alternative strategies that have worked for other clients.
HSBC are keen to generate feedback from service users. To meet that objective, Radio Taxis are in the process of designing an electronic questionnaire that will be completed by staff on line.
Tracking spend is a business imperative for any organisation. Radio Taxis’s management data has enabled analysts at HSBC to identify where, when and by whom services are being utilised in order to minimise costs without compromising quality of service.
HSBC was the world’s first bank to become carbon neutral. Radio Taxis was the world’s first taxi company to achieve the same status. The commitment of both companies towards green issues provides mutuality of focus and ethical values.
Testimonial
‘HSBC and Radio Taxis work together in an open, honest, friendly environment to create a Ground Transportation fit that is just right for our business.
Before appointing Radio Taxis as our preferred supplier, I took references from several other companies. All confirmed they were the best and most professional organisation in an otherwise fragmented industry. HSBC is keenly aware of our responsibilities to the community and another factor behind their appointment was Radio Taxis’ achievement in becoming the first carbon neutral taxi company.
Radio Taxis have worked hard to understand our business and put a great deal of effort into delivering ongoing improvements to the service.
They are committed to building a long-term relationship with us. I look forward to continuing to work with Radio Taxis and building upon the excellent start that we’ve made”.
