Radio Taxis has over 30 years experience of working with Government Agencies and Public Sector organisations. Long before the Ring Of Steel reshaped The Square Mile or the seismic events of 7/7, Radio Taxis was working in tandem with business and administrative partners, offering advice and guidance on security issues.
Taxi cabs are one of the safest method of transport in London. All drivers are subject to a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check which is conducted by an executive agency of The Home Office. The licence of each and every driver is also reviewed on an annual basis by The Public Carriage Office.
Safety is reinforced by rules surrounding identification. Drivers must wear ID badges at all times while licence plates display the registration date of each vehicle.
The security needs of individual clients are clearly understood. For example, organisations may wish to scrutinise the underside of each carriage or conduct an internal search of the vehicle. Radio Taxis drivers appreciate the importance of such processes and drivers are informed in advance of requirements. Upon request, Radio Taxis’ control room will ring clients ahead of pick-up with details of the driver’s name and licence plate.

All drivers must have passed an Advanced Driving Test and, of course, are fully qualified in The Knowledge.Radio Taxis appreciates that support services must be available at any time. While the vast majority of travel takes place between 9am-7pm, world class organisations committed to meeting the needs of clients take little account of normal business hours. Social Responsibility has become a corporate imperative and Radio Taxis provide staff with safe passage at all times.
Security of Information
Servicing key corporate and government clients may expose drivers to information that is intended to remain confidential. Radio Taxis is committed to protecting the privacy of those who work with us and all drivers have signed a Confidentiality Agreement.Most taxis on the road are equipped with an intercom system that links driver and passengers. Such systems may be turned off on request by black cab drivers - an option that remains unavailable for those using Private Hire cars.
Security of Process
Radio Taxis provide clients with leading edge management information. A detailed breakdown of services can be supplied at departmental and user levels.Organisations are able to track which services are being used, by whom and when. Minimising costs and providing heightened levels of security, such data is increasingly supplied online as Radio Taxis places significant emphasis on a paperless environment.
